  • Depending on the circumstances, the customer may mandate a third party to send his or her personal information.
  • Personal information may be collected by e-mail, telephone, via our paper and online forms or through cookies when you visit our website.

Can be requested:

Identifying information such as name, date of birth, mailing address, e-mail address, telephone number, identification documents and social insurance number.

Financial information such as balance sheet, bank statements and credit rating.

For what purpose

  • Know yourself, know who you are and confirm your identity.
  • Contact you to answer questions, understand your needs and analyze your requests for products and services.
  • Produce contracts, process payments, transfer information to lenders with whom we partner
  • Comply with the law and manage risks, such as preventing and containing fraud or unauthorized activities.
  • Comply with our legal obligations and the requirements of the various authorities.

To whom may we communicate your personal information?

  • Our commercial equipment financing brokers.
  • Our sales coordinators.
  • Other companies, such as financial institutions, that take care of your financing needs.
  • Credit bureaus such as Equifax
  • Insurance companies to obtain confirmation of insurance coverage for your equipment or life/disability insurance.
  • Courts, regulatory authorities or self-regulatory bodies
  • Fraud management agencies such as police forces

Information is disclosed only within Canada, unless an exception requires consent.

Obtaining your consent

We obtain your consent directly from you before collecting your personal information. Personal information may be collected by our brokers or by members of our sales coordination team. Your consent will be sought again if we wish to use or disclose your information for a purpose other than that for which it was collected.

In some cases, the law allows us to collect, use or disclose your personal information without your consent. For example, to conduct statistical studies, to offer a requested product or service, to take necessary measures in the event of fraud, or if we are required by law to disclose your personal information (Tribunal).

We take significant steps to protect your personal information.

Every member of our team is committed to protecting your information. Our internal procedures define everyone's responsibilities in this area.

  • Access to information is limited to those who need it to perform their duties.
  • Employees are trained to handle information rigorously.
  • We continually review employee access according to their responsibilities
  • Security measures are in place to protect our platforms and IT systems. (Multi-factor authentication, encrypted data, installation monitoring).
  • We will never ask for your password or personal identification number.
  • We will not contact you for the sole purpose of obtaining your personal information.

Information is kept for a limited time

Information is retained only as long as necessary to fulfill the purpose for which it was collected or to meet our legal obligations. A schedule and rules are in place to guide employees on the appropriate times to destroy information.

Your information rights are respected

You may withdraw your consent to the use of your personal data at any time. However, we will no longer be able to offer the service for which it was collected. At the customer's request, we will provide all the information in our possession in your file within a reasonable time. Any person may therefore find out what information we hold, consult it, correct it and ask us to delete it. Such requests must be made in writing to our Privacy Officer.
